At its core, EITI promotes transparency and accountability in the management of natural resources, helping to ensure that revenues from the extractive sector benefit all Solomon Islanders.
Key Activities
Producing EITI Reports
A central function of EITI is to produce national EITI Country Reports (officially called Reconciliation Reports). These reports reconcile and compare the revenues paid by extractive companies with the revenues received by government. This process helps identify discrepancies, improve data quality, and strengthen public confidence in how natural resource revenues are managed.

Raising Awareness and Building Understanding
The Secretariat conducts outreach and awareness activities to ensure that Landowners, civil society organisations, government agencies, and extractive companies understand the EITI Standard and its importance. This helps communities engage more effectively in discussions about natural resource management.
Engaging Stakeholders
EITI is a multi-stakeholder initiative. The Secretariat facilitates meetings, consultations and dialogue between government, industry and civil society to discuss priorities, challenges and opportunities. This inclusive approach ensures that all voices are heard in shaping how the sector is governed.
